SNOWMOBILES
A year like 2015, without much snow, makes us that much more focused on our
ultimate target market: passionate riders who seek out snow and creative ways to
enjoy the sport. We have several strategies to help them in their mission, which is
why—despite poor snow—wecontinued to gain market share in2015:
>> Let riders create a custom snowmobile
Our pre-order SnowCheck program is
awin for customers, dealers and Polaris.
Itensures riders get the vehicles they want,
and reduces some of the weather risk for
both dealers and us. SnowCheck sales have
been higher the past two years than we’ve
seen in more than a decade, largely due
toSnowCheck Select. It lets customers order
a true factory-customized snowmobile—
withthe chassis, track, suspension, colors
and accessories they want. No other
snowmobile manufacturer oers this level
oftrue factory customization.
>> Give them new opportunities to ride
New models have always helped invigorate
sales, but in2015 we gave customers a
whole new way to ride—with our acquisition
of Timbersled. It’s an innovative kit that
converts an o-road motorcycle for on-snow
use. Timbersled brings us two kinds of
incremental new customers: dirt bike riders
who want to use their bikes year-round and
snowmobilers who want to try a completely
new on-snow experience.
>> Help them find snow
Hardcore snowmobilers will travel to good
snow. We help them find it with RiderX™
Snow Trails, a free mobile app with trail
maps, weather forecasts, and nearby gas,
lodging, restaurants and dealers. In2015, we
upgraded the app with oine functionality,
so riders can download maps for areas with
limited cell coverage.
