The Bon M arché will open anot her new
first- of- it s- kind st ore in Helena, M T lat er
t his year. Encompassing only 65,000 square
feet , t his will be a f ull- line, upscale st ore
on a single level, wit h a single ent rance,
cent ralized sales areas and specially designed
shopping carts – all aimed at creating maximum
cust omer service and convenience.
Continuing a st rat egy of locat ing new st ores
in promising markets, M acy’s in Oct ober 2000
opened Federat ed’s first st ore out side of the
cont inent al Unit ed St at es – in Plaza Las Americas
in San Juan, Puert o Rico. This unique M acy’s
capt ures t he island’s at mosphere in bot h design
and merchandise.

Building on our strength in upscale, fashion-
oriented home goods, Federated continues to open
free-standing home stores and furniture galleries
in key markets across the United States. Often
located near our full-line department stores, these
free-standing units allow us to present dominant
assortments in key home categories – creating a
destination for the targeted customer.
