6 EQUIFAX | 2007 ANNUAL REPORT
TALX empowers companies with workforce information
solutions. These solutions include employment verification
and other employment-related services for over 9,000
clients in the United States and more than 75 percent of
companies in the FORTUNE 500® Index. The TALX
sweet spot is managing workforce information. The Work
Number® database contains over 166 million employment
records, and we are adding over one million new records
per month. We use technology to enrich our solutions and
empower our customers – much like Equifax Enabling
Technologies. Accordingly, our business model parallels
other Equifax business units, with two-thirds of our revenue
recurring and diversified among multiple vertical segments.
We will apply to our business the same strategies
that are driving growth throughout Equifax today:
Growing unique data assets – The Work Number®
database – and leveraging them across new markets,
new applications and new customer segments
Cross-selling our high-value services to existing
customers and gaining more share-of-wallet
Bringing to market select new services that meet
client needs for value and streamlined workflow
As part of Equifax, these growth drivers are more
dynamic than ever before. Lead generation and cross-selling
opportunities are a top priority, and synergistic efforts are
well under way between TALX and other Equifax busi-
ness units. As these synergies gain traction, customers will
discover new and powerful solutions to help manage
relationships with those most important to them: their
customers and their employees.
TALX
BILL CANFIELD
PRESIDENT, TALX
“Our core business revolves around employment verification
through The Work Number®, tax management and talent
assessment services. We gather workforce information from
employers and serve as their agents for employment verification.
We then market our services to companies needing to verify
employment and income information. Our leading verification
market segments include pre-employment screening, social
services, consumer finance, auto lending and mortgage lending.
Though some of our customers overlap with existing Equifax
customers, many do not – creating enormous opportunity to
cross-sell our respective client bases.”
The Work Number® database is at the core of our
workforce solutions business.
