North America Commercial Information Solutions
empowers businesses to do business with one another.
We have entered the $1.7 billion commercial market by
establishing a leadership position of enabling large busi-
nesses to work with small businesses. Small business
transactions account for the majority of commercial credit
lending activity in the United States and Canada – and our
clients have told us that the small business sector offers
critical growth potential.
Our credit databases are
the largest in the industry for
U.S. and Canadian small busi-
ness information, placing us in
a unique position to help our
clients grow. At year-end, our
commercial databases contained credit information on
approximately 24 million U.S. and 2.4 million Canadian
businesses. U.S. files continue to grow in depth and
breadth. Enhancements include more multi-industry
payment experiences, extensive financial services
information and public record data, such as Secretary
of State as well as Securities and Exchange Commission
registrations. In addition, our market-leading corporate
linkage technology reveals business-to-business relation-
ships and is supported by superior predictive analytics.
Furthermore, best-in-class decisioning products,
such as scoring models that blend both proprietor and
small business data, enable
clients to make more sound
risk or marketing decisions.
This type of unique
intelligence is helping our
clients win in the marketplace.
Our financial exchange members
tell us they are experiencing as much as a 15 percent
increase in new account approvals while keeping delin-
quencies constant. We are confident that our commercial
business can double in size and market share by 2010.
