aThe carrying amount of the group’s property, plant and equipment includes an amount of £100m (2011/12: £113m) in respect of assets held under finance leases, comprising land and
buildings of £59m (2011/12: £62m) and network infrastructure and equipment of £41m (2011/12: £51m). The depreciation expense on those assets in 2012/13 was £19m (2011/12:
£29m), comprising land and buildings of £3m (2011/12: £3m) and network infrastructure and equipment of £16m (2011/12: £26m).
