Help in dealing with breast cancer
Six years ago as a result of her annual checkup,
Jenifer Hinkemeyer of Newnan, Georgia, learned that
she had breast cancer. A wife and mother of three,
Jenifer participated in a Breast Cancer Care Program
introduced by our Blue Cross Blue Shield plan in
Georgia. The program is designed to promote discus-
sions between patients and their health care teams,
improve appropriate treatment decisions, and provide
support. Jenifer has now been cancer-free for three
years. “I want others to know how important a
mammogram and regular ob-gyn checkups are for
women,” she says. “I also try to help others keep
a positive attitude when facing cancer in their lives.”
