Notes to Consolidated Financial Statements
Short-term borrowings which are backed by committed medium-
term credit lines are classified as long-term borrowings. The
committed medium-term lines contain a negative-pledge clause
and a minimum-equity covenant. As at December 31, 2000,
actual shareholders’ equity is well above the amount of the
minimum-equity covenant.
The amounts disclosed as long-term borrowings represent
outstanding borrowings under the following arrangements:
