Markets
Wereceivemarketpricesforthecopper,goldandsilvercontained
inourconcentrates.During2005,ourminingrevenueswerederived
approximately67percentfromcopper,32percentfromgoldand
1percentfromsilver.Copperandgoldpricerealizationswere
significantlyhigherin2005thaninthepreviousyear.Theaverage
realizedpriceforourcopperwas$1.85perpound,whiletheaverage
realizedpriceforourgoldwas$456perounce.Copperrealizations
wereup35percentduring2005comparedto2004and164percent
sinceDecember31,2002,whilegoldrealizationswereup11percent
during2005comparedto2004and33percentsinceDecember31,
2002.Inearly2006,copperpricestradedatall-timehighs.
Marketfundamentalsforbothmetalscontinuetobestrong.Future
copperpriceswillbeinfluencedbydemandfromChina,economic
performanceintheUnitedStates(U.S.)andotherindustrialized
countries,thetimingofthedevelopmentofnewsuppliesofcopper,
productionlevelsofminesandcoppersmeltersandbyinvestment
activity,whichhasbecomeincreasinglysignificantinthemovements
ofnear-termprices.Thecurrentunderlyingsupplyanddemand
conditionsinthephysicalcoppermarketsarepositive.Goldprices
reachedanew25-yearhighabove$570perounceinearly2006,
supportedbyincreasedinvestmentdemandforgold,ongoing
geopoliticaltensions,aweakU.S.dollar,inflationarypressures,falling
productionfromoldermines,limiteddevelopmentofnewminesand
actionsbygoldproducerstoreducehedgepositions.
