WHO
XM has assembled a virtual “who’s who” of household names in original
equipment (OEM), aftermarket, home and portable radio products in order
to ensure delivery of our dynamic, digital-quality audio service. These strategic
manufacturing partners include:
Original Equipment Manufacturers:
The leading manufacturers Delphi Delco, SONY, Pioneer, Alpine, Mitsubishi
Electric, Clarion, Audiovox and Motorola represent an all-star OEM lineup.
Aftermarket or Replacement Manufacturers:
XM counts Pioneer, Alpine and SONY, three of the top four manufacturers
in aftermarket radios, on its production and distribution team, along with
other leading names in consumer electronics.
Home and Portable:
Sharp, another household brand name, joins SONY in producing XM’s
home and portable receivers.
Each of these partners offers far-reaching distribution networks and valuable
national brand recognition that will play a critical role in boosting acceptance
of satellite radio in general, and XM in particular, through major retail chains
across the country.
Ultimately, we envision our digital pipeline to the car extending our audio
service to encompass future telematics products and services, such as in-car
“push-button” purchasing. These advanced digital applications may represent
additional revenue opportunities for the Company.
