LG ELECTRONICS
At LG Electronics, our corporate commitment to shaping a bright and warm society has been
put into practice through various activities. We have steadily raised Social Contribution Funds and
launched the LG Social Volunteer Corps. The Code of Social Contribution implemented in 2005 laid us a
firmer ground to direct our social volunteer activities. • All employees have participated in raising Labor-
management Social Care Funds providing new houses to the needy, the free meal program for the
homeless, and briquette supply and vegetable Kimchi making for those on the fringes of society. We have
provided a wide range of volunteer activities for the disabled, including ‘LG Wings of Information’, a
computer education program for the seriously disabled. We also carry on Beautiful Saturday Bazar,
Goodwill Blood Donation, and support for children suffering from life-threatening diseases. • As for youth
volunteer activities, we provide the open-to-all LG Electronics Junior Science Class. We operate the LG
Visiting Electronic Class, mobilizing a king-size truck loaded with lab equipment. The class visits remote
locations and orphanages to present intriguing electronic shows and hands-on laboratory programs. We
provide funds for junior and high school students of financially-stricken families to buy their uniforms, and
through our industrial Manpower Scholarship, we help vocational high school students. • Overseas, we
have also carried out various volunteer activities. These include the ‘I Love China’ campaign, the anti-
narcotics campaign in East Asian countries, and free eyesight recovery operations. In the Middle East and
Africa, we have continued free surgical operations for children with congenital harelips and cleft palates.
We established a vocational school for children of the needy in Latin America, have provided youth
scholarships in Europe, and donated up-to-date digital products to the Russia National Library. • We hold
or sponsor broadcasting and other cultural events, each designed to suit the cultural traits of individual
countries. The quiz programs LG supporting themed on stimulating student learning, has been aired
through major broadcasters in Russia, Morocco, China, and Taiwan, and has gained favorable response in
