REVIEW
Our Private Financial and Capital Markets Group offers products and services targeted at high net worth individuals
and businesses needing unique fi nancial solutions.
For our private banking clients, our unique distribution model employs a unifi ed sales force that effi ciently delivers
private banking and wealth management products and services through Huntingtons Regional Banking distribution
channels. Customers have access to a single individual with the expertise to present a complete menu of investment,
insurance, and private banking options. For our corporate and institutional customers, we also offer an array of capital
market fi nancial solutions, including investment banking, securities sales and trading, mezzanine capital fi nancing,
risk management products, 401(k) plans, pension, custody and corporate trust services.
2005 was another excellent year of continued growth. At year-end, we had nearly $11 billion of assets under manage-
ment, a 10% increase over 2004. Trust assets exceeded $45 billion, a 7% increase year over year, and trust fees have
increased for nine consecutive quarters.
Our ability to grow assets is a direct result of a full range of innovative products that meet customer needs. For example,
in 2004 we developed and introduced to our managed account clients highly popular enhanced option investment
techniques tailored to current market conditions. We also expanded our distribution channel by adding two offi ces
in Florida in 2005.
The investment performance of many of our mutual funds also fueled our success. Morningstar, a leading mutual
fund evaluation service, rated four of our nine equity funds 4-Stars for the periods ending December 31, 2005, and
one fi xed income fund received 5-Stars for the same periods. In 2005, our proprietary mutual fund assets grew to
$3.5 billion, and our equity fund assets grew by 15%.
The Private Financial and Capital Markets Group continued to produce consistent growth in loans, deposits, assets
under management, and fee income through the sale of other banking services. Private Financial and Capital Markets
Group associates deliver all banking, investment, insurance, and capital markets products with the objective of pro-
viding nothing less than “Simply the Best” service.
