Second Quarter 2002
Results
Columbia Sportswear Company®
today announced net sales of $124.2
million for its second quarter ended
June 30, 2002, an increase of 2.2%
over the $121.5 million of net sales
for the same period of last year. Net
income for the period was up 17.2%
to $7.5 million, or $0.19 per share
(diluted) on 40.1 million weighted
average shares outstanding for the
second quarter, compared to net
income of $6.4 million, or $0.16
per share (diluted) on 40.1 million
weighted average shares outstanding
for the same period of last year.

World Summer Games
International outdoor apparel and
footwear leader Columbia Sportswear
Company announces that it has been
named the official apparel sponsor of
Special Olympics Team USA for the
2003 World Summer Games. The games
take place June 21-29, 2003, in Dublin,
Ireland. All 1300 Team USA athletes and
the 350 Team USA coaches will wear
Columbia Sportswear from head to toe.

Record Third Quarter
2002 Results
Columbia Sportswear Company
today announced record net sales of
$331.5 million for its third quarter
ended September 30, 2002, an
increase of 8.5% over the $305.6
million of net sales for the same
period of last year. Net income for
the period increased 14.7% to $56.9
million, or $1.42 per share (diluted)
on 40.2 million weighted average
shares outstanding for the third
quarter, compared to net income
of $49.6 million, or $1.24 per share
(diluted) on 40.1 million weighted
average shares outstanding for the
same period of last year.

Opening of New
European Distribution
Facility
Columbia Sportswear Company®
today officially opened its new
European distribution facility
in Cambrai, France. This
269,000 square foot distribution
center underscores the growing
importance of the Company’s
European business. The new
facility will distribute Columbia’s
products to all markets in the
European Union.
