If we are able to achieve these objectives, Jarden
will continue to grow and succeed. However, the
Board has set an ambitious target of achieving
adjusted, fully diluted earnings per share of
$6.00, by year end 2018. This goal represents an
approximate 70% growth target over the 2013
full-year adjusted EPS of $3.59. As the Company
gets larger, achieving these signicant percentages
as opposed to absolute dollar increases becomes
more challenging as the law of large numbers sets
in. To put this in perspective, assuming the same
15.5x forward P/E multiple that Jarden traded at
on December 31, 2013, achieving this goal would
imply creating in excess of $4.5 billion in additional
shareholder value, over the next ve years.
We believe the Company is well positioned in
its core markets, and that our leadership teams
have the tools and resources to win with our
customers. Our priorities remain unchanged; to
deliver innovative products through leading brands
that consumers desire and trust, to capitalize
on our strong core to expand by category and
geographically, and to deliver earnings growth
well above our rate of sales increase.
These are exciting times at Jarden and we feel
privileged to continue the journey that we have
been so fortunate to travel these past 13 years.
From our earliest days at Jarden, we have set and
delivered ambitious long-term goals and we are
excited to be embarking on this latest challenge.
We have always said that business is a team sport;
it is the great effort put forth by all members of the
Jarden family that deserves the credit for where the
Company stands today. With their dedication and
resolve, we feel condent in the future of Jarden as
a truly world-class consumer products company.
Yours Sincerely,
