With the debut of our first Environmental Stewardship report, Southwest also launched
www.southwest.com/cares, d ed ica ted to s howc as in g o ur effor ts in co rp ora te so ci al re sponsib il it y.
We strive to be a good Environmental Steward across our system in all of our hometowns, and one
way we do that is by focusing on efficiency, which by its very nature, translates to eliminating
waste and conserving resources. The Southwest Green Team consists of Employees from across
the Company volunteering their time to enhance Environmental Stewardship through daily action.
In 2008, the Green Team ramped up efforts to put a “green” filter on future business decisions; developed Employee outreach
pro gra ms o n envi ron me nt al i ss ues so in di vi du al So ut hwes t E mp loye es c ou ld re du ce t he ir p erso na l e nvi ron me ntal fo ot pr in ts; a nd
continued to look for areas of improvement, such as more robust recycling opportunities, exploring and promoting ridesharing

positively to our environment is simply the way we like to do business.
