The aggregate amortization expense of other intangible assets subject
to amortization for the year ended March 31, 2003 and 2004 were ¥6,993
million and ¥9,284 million ($89,269 thousand). The future amortization
expense for each of the five years relating to intangible assets currently
recorded in the consolidated balance sheets is estimated to be the following
at March 31, 2004:
The significant transactions of Ricoh with these affiliates for the years
ended March 31, 2002, 2003 and 2004, and the related account balances at
March 31, 2003 and 2004 are summarized as follows:
Unrealized profits regarding the above transactions were eliminated in
the consolidated financial statements.
As of March 31, 2004, consolidated retained earnings included
undistributed earnings of 20% to 50% owned companies accounted for by
the equity method in the amount of ¥41,070 million ($394,904 thousand).
