Report of the Board Risk Committee
59
• the Committee has overseen the refinement and further embedding
of the Group’s risk appetite framework into the business divisions;
• the Committee considered the outputs of stress testing and
approved a reverse stress test trigger framework to further assist the
risk management team in assessing how the business is positioned
to respond to various potential scenarios; and
• an economic capital framework was presented and the Committee
considered how this would be transitioned into business as usual.
More detailed information on each of these areas is set out in the Board
Risk Committee report that follows.
2013 was a challenging year for the Board Risk Committee and I would
like to extend my gratitude to my fellow members and to the Group’s
senior leadership team for the additional time that they have dedicated to
the business of the Committee.
Philip Scott,
Chairman of the Board Risk Committee
26 February 2014
