Special Feature 1: Strategy for Emerging Markets
Pioneer is implementing optimal measures for market environments in emerging
markets with large growth potential, as we make maximum use of our strengths to
pursue businesses that will secure steady growth. In this section, we introduce our
strategies for China and Brazil.
Pioneer has been making steady progress in the Chinese
market under a strategic business alliance initiated in
November 2009 with Suning Appliance Co., Ltd., a major
retailer of consumer electronics. Suning Appliance has
strong sales channels, covering major urban areas across
China including inland regions. We are utilizing these sales
channels to increase sales of Pioneer brand home AV
products. Our products are displayed at more than 500
Suning Appliance stores (as of June 2012), and we expect
sales of our products to continue to grow. We also have
a brand alliance in flat-panel TVs, displayed at Suning
Appliance stores, and solid sales are trending higher than
