EXPANDING BREADTH, DEPTH, DISTRIBUTION
Cobra’s marine product line continued to establish the company
as a growing force in the industry, both in the United States
and overseas. From chartplotters to marine radios, Cobra offered
a well-rounded lineup of marine products in 2006. Cobra’s line
of marine radios continued the growth trends established in
2005 with excellent sales across Europe of the MRHH 300 EU
throughout 2006. The growth of the European market is expected
to continue.
Also in 2006, Cobra aggressively pursued new and increased
distribution for its marine products in the United States. Now
available in major marine retailers and major mass merchandise
retailers domestically, Cobra Marine® products are steadily gaining
market share. The latest models in the 2007 product lineup
premiered at the 2007 Miami Boat Show including the MR
HH 425LI VP and the MR HH 325 VP hand held VHF radios.
In Cobra’s tradition of introducing industry firsts, its new
MR HH425LI VP handheld VHF radio offers two features
new to the marine world: a digital voice recorder and
GMRS channels. Cobra’s new Rewind-Say-Again feature
uses a digital voice recorder to continuously record the
last 20 seconds of transmission, allowing the user to play
back missed calls and record them for future use.
With one push of the Band key, the new MR HH425LI VP
can go from marine VHF to GMRS frequencies, allowing the radio
to be used also as a GMRS two-way radio. This new combination
handheld two-way radio is the world’s first submersible VHF/
GMRS radio, equipped with five watts of lithium ion power.
Cobra also launched microPORT™ in 2006. A power inverter
for today’s on-the-go tech-savvy consumer, microPORT enables
AC power for small consumer electronics in vehicles. In 2006,
microPORT was sold at amazon.com and Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Cobra understands its consumer and how the microPORT power
inverter plays an even more important role in today’s wireless,
technology-driven environment.
EASY-TO-USE, LATEST TECHNOLOGY, LEADERSHIP
Focusing on understanding the consumer gives Cobra the lead.
The Company takes the lead and brings innovative, easy-to-use,
state-of-the-art technologies to the mass market. Determining
the right features for the right products at the right price will
be a perpetual pursuit as Cobra strives to best understand the
consumer. With better understanding of the consumer, product,
technology and marketplace, Cobra will continue its pursuit of
leadership.
