members grow their business while driving top- and
bottom-line results. With DTV at the center of our retail
growth strategy, True Value is there every step of the way
to help retailers implement the new format into their
stores – whether it’s remerchandising, remodeling or a new
store – by offering loans and incentives to interested
members and potential new store owners.
2009 OUTLOOK
Looking ahead, we are focused on sustaining this mo-
mentum to drive the long-term growth and success of our
co-op and its members. In a year that will undoubtedly
present challenges and opportunities brought on by the
current economic climate, we must maintain a relentless
focus on customers and their needs to help every store
win at retail.
To do this, our 2009 priorities will be to:
• Help our members achieve comparable store sales
equal to or better than the home improvement indus-
try and our competition.
• Updateourmerchandiseassortmentsthroughwhole-
sale and retail line reviews.
• Meetll-rate goals of 96percent, particularly during
peak selling periods.
• Investinourgrowthbyincorporatingelementsofthe
DTV format into another 100 retail stores.
• Deliveraconsistentpatronagedividendtoourshare-
holders.
Now is our moment. In a difficult economy, customers
look to their local hardware store more than ever to meet
their home repair and project needs. With financial and
retail strength at our backs, we have every confidence that
working together, True Value will not only weather the
storm, but continue to thrive.
True Value has the right strategy and right people to win
at retail and grow your business in 2009 and for years
