What sets Key apart as a responsible
bank and a responsible citizen is
how we align our business strategies
with community development.
We have $2 billion of loans and
investments in underserved
communities, and we have received
eight consecutive “Outstanding”
ratings on the Community
Reinvestment Act from the Office
of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Through KeyBank Foundation, we give
an average of $18 million annually to a
number of nonprofit and philanthropic
organizations across our footprint.
In an effort to create thriving
communities, thriving students, and
a thriving workforce, our gifts are
concentrated in education, financial
literacy, workforce development,
and economic self-sufficiency.
Service is central to our character
and to our values. In the last five years,
our employees have donated more
than 100,000 hours to community
service through volunteerism, nonprofit
board service, and civic support.
Sustainability is also central to our
corporate responsibility efforts.
We continue to build and renovate
our buildings to green standards
to improve the efficiency of our
operations. For example, during the
year we received LEED® certification
from the U.S. Green Building Council
at six additional locations. We now
have more than 20 LEED-certified
facilities. In 2014, we also recycled
more than 5,000 tons of waste and
decreased energy consumption
at our facilities.
