Nonperforming assets
Figure 41 shows the composition of our nonperforming assets. These assets totaled $403 million at December 31,
2015, and represented .67% of portfolio loans, OREO and other nonperforming assets, compared to $436 million,
or .76%, at December 31, 2014. See Note 1 under the headings “Nonperforming Loans,” “Impaired Loans,” and
“Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses” for a summary of our nonaccrual and charge-off policies.
