52 INFORMATION ON GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS
ING Group’s business lines operate in seven main geographical areas: the Netherlands, Belgium, Rest of Europe, North America, Latin
America, Asia and Australia. The Netherlands is ING Group’s country of domicile. Geographical distribution of income is based on the
origin of revenue. A geographical area is a distinguishable component of the Group engaged in providing products or services within
aparticular economic environment that is subject to risks and returns that are different from those of segments operating in other
economic environments. The geographical analyses are based on the location of the office from which the transactions are originated.
