Workforce Solutions
Our Workforce Solutions business unit, including Verification
Services and Employer Services, generated revenues of
$463 million, a growth rate of 15% last year with an operating
margin of 23.3%.
High mortgage activity helped to drive strong demand for Veri-
fication Services throughout the year. Additionally, in late 2011,
the acquisition of DataVision enabled us to effectively deliver a
100% verification solution encompassing researched as well
as automated verification. The top 20 U.S. lenders now use this
time- and labor-saving platform, and we are making important
inroads with automotive, student loan and credit card lenders
as well.
For Employer Services, two new best-in-market services —
CaseBuilder and SIDES — strengthened our leadership in
serving this sector. We have streamlined and improved the
cost effectiveness of our operations through implementation
of state-of-the-art software applications while expanding our
access to government software platforms to help clients re-
duce unemployment insurance overpayments. In addition, new
workforce analytics solutions, powered by eThority (an acquisi-
tion we made in 2011), enables improved risk management for
HR leaders.
We continue to grow The Work Number database, reaching
222 million total records and 55 million active records. Already
the most comprehensive employment and income database
in the nation, The Work Number is on a path to reach approxi-
mately half of the 140 million current non-farm jobs in the U.S.
Growing the record count, while increasing the value of an active
record, is expected to enable our Verification Services business
to enjoy above average growth in the years ahead.
Increasingly, The Work Number is being leveraged by govern-
ment agencies to establish and verify ongoing eligibility for
entitlements. Thirty states are using The Work Number data and
technology to accelerate benefit determinations with accuracy
for programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
(TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Plan (SNAP) and
Medicaid.

tries in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia. Equifax
is the innovation leader for credit and marketing information
services in all the geographic markets that we serve. Financial
services and telecommunications are our primary customer
segments, with increasing emphasis on the small to medium
