13. COM M ITMENTS AND CONTINGENT LIABILITIES
At March 31, 2000, the Group was contingently liable for
trade notes and export drafts discounted with banks in the
amount of ¥2,302 million ($21,717 thousand) and as
guarantor of others for bank loans and trade liabilities in the
amount of ¥1,474 million ($13,906 thousand).
14. SUBSEQUENT EVENTS
At the annual shareholders’ meeting held on June 29, 2000,
the Company’s shareholders approved the payment of a cash
dividend of ¥12.50 per share aggregating ¥3,394 million
($32,019 thousand) to shareholders of record as of March 31,
2000.
