From the central pharmacy to patient oors, our CardinalASSIST®
service helps hospitals improve eciency and support patient
safety. The medication logistics solution replenishes medications
in ecient units of measure, directly to the patient care area. Each
package includes lot number, expiration date and National Drug
Code, or NDC, in a bar code format. This automates the receiving
process and captures vital information used to track medications
through the hospital. By automating medication management
and eliminating steps in the ordering process, the Cardinal Health
CardinalASSIST® service helps reduce administrative burden,
minimize potential for error and increase the amount of time
pharmacists and nurses have for their patients.
In the operating room, cardiac catheterization lab, nursing units
and other clinical settings, our Presource® procedure pack program
helps create and maintain an ecient supply chain by oering
standard and custom procedure packs based on each hospital’s
needs. Our kitting solutions are designed to maximize value and
minimize waste, and our surgical gowns and drapes help keep
clinicians and patients safe from the potential risk of infection.
We also oer unique safety solutions, such as the SurgiCount
Safety-Sponge® System, to help prevent retained sponges and
towels following surgery, and HemCon® GuardIVa® Antimicrobial
Hemostatic IV Dressing to help control surface bleeding and
provide antimicrobial protection when inserting or maintaining
any central venous catheter. And by sharing clinical best practices,
our Presource® products and services clinical team helps promote
patient and practitioner safety and infection prevention.
