Harris Bank is rapidly growing its advantaged
community banking, private client and mid-market corporate/investment businesses
in Chicagoland, the Midwest and beyond. The year 2000 another year of record
earnings and profitability reflected our fundamentally enriched business mix,
strong growth and sustained cost control. We are building on this momentum by
expanding Harris Banks multi-channel distribution system in greater Chicago
and selected high-growth U.S. markets (including Arizona and Florida). We are
intensely focused on developing stronger relationships with all our customers,
offering a richer suite of innovative retail, investment and mid-market products
and services, including e-commerce options.
The introduction of Credit Manager, our industry-leading
automated loan approval system, helped increase
small business lending by 9% last year while substan-
tially improving small business lending productivity.
In partnership with
724 Solutions and
Sprint PCS, Harris was
the first bank in
the United States to
introduce wireless
banking via digital
mobile phones.
Consumer loans in Harris
community banking grew
15% over last year.
