(1) Average price paid per share excludes cash paid for commissions. We repurchased 2,000,000 shares in the fourth quarter of 2006 upon the exercise of two
outstanding put options. Premiums totaling $5 million were excluded from the average price paid per share. If the premiums had been included, the average
price paid per share for the purchases of shares made during the fourth quarter would have been $43.23.
(2) On November 7, 2005, we announced that we authorized the expenditure of up to $2.5 billion to repurchase shares of our common stock with no expiration
date. The $2.5 billion stock repurchase program replaced a $2.0 billion stock repurchase program, of which approximately $1.0 billion remained authorized
for repurchases.
(3) The approximate dollar value of shares that may yet be purchased has not been reduced by the net cost of $89 million (net of the premiums received) of
2,000,000 shares that may be repurchased related to put options we sold during scal 2006.
