In order to m eet the increasingly dem anding and constantly ch an ging needs of our consum ers, w e h a ve initiated the “Life
Conditioner concept, blending conventional air conditioning with new lifestyle values and em otional satisfaction. This has re su lted
in an air conditioner with cooling, heating, air purifying, and dehum idifying functions geared to providing a com fortable and pleasant
enviro n m e n t 24/7. In order to provide a more optimized and perfect enviro n m en t, LGs global outreach operations take both re gional
needs and consum er behavior into consideration. Running the gam ut fro m product planning to marketing and distribution, they are
staffed by people fro m each re gion who have an intimate know ledge of their hom e market environ m e n t.
COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONERS (CAC)
Since 2008, we have been diversifying into the energy solutions business. In the area of new and re n ew a ble energy, we plan to
expand our investments in solar energy applications, with a pronounced focus on geotherm al energy. We will also continue adding
to our already-sizable investments in R&D and hum an resources, increasing the num ber of re se arch staff to 2,100 by 2010 from 1,200
in 2007. In addition, we will develop solid service infra stru ctures to expand the rea ch of the CAC business even further.
HOM N ET / BUILDING MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS / HOTEL SOLUTIONS / LED
LGs solutions business includes Hom Net, Sm art Building Solution, and Hotel Solution. Hom Net enables consum ers to control
their digital equipm ent at any point and any time by connecting them to a rem o te controller system . Sm art Building Solution
red u ce s energy consum ption and provides security against fires and crime, while Hotel Solution offers the ultimate in services for
both institutional and re sidential consum ers through intelligent inform ation system s, IT infrastru ctures, integrated facility and
system control stru ctures. Our goal is to increase our market penetration and profitability by utilizing our air conditioning business
channels, stre n g thening our sales channels, solution synergies, and partnering with other global players.
COM PRESSOR
LG produces 18 million ro tary and scroll com p ressors, the core com ponents of air conditioners, every year. The LG Air Conditioning
Com pany has also custom ized these core com ponents, which can be used in both re sidential and commercial applications. In line
with the com panys enviro n m e n tally-friendly philosophy, it is also a major m anufacturer of eco-friendly com pressors. Providing
total service from key com ponents to business solutions, all based on cutting-edge technologies, LG has becom e increasingly
com petitive in the global heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market.

The Air Conditioning Company was reorganized
in 2009 as part of LG’s strategy of broadening its
business horizons to include the B2B sector and re-
vamping its operating structure. These steps will al-
low the company to base its decisions more fully
on consumer lifestyles and explore new business
opportunities. The company provides total heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions
that are optimized for both home and work environ-
ments, focusing on commercial residential air condi-
tioning systems and effective and efficient solutions.
