Using Clean Energy to Lower Carbon Emissions
In recent years, Huawei has researched and utilized
new energy sources to reduce product carbon
footprint while seeking to slash OPEX.
In 2014, Huawei continued to construct solar power
stations to increase its use of clean energy and
minimize carbon emissions. Over the past year,
Huawei constructed 15-megawatt grid-connected
photovoltaic power stations at its Hangzhou and
Dongguan campuses, generating approximately 16
million kWh of electricity. By the end of 2014, Huawei had constructed 19-megawatt photovoltaic power
stations to generate nearly 20 million kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to a CO2 emissions reduction of
over 1,800 tons.
