Annual Report 2013 Citrix Systems, Inc.
Our Strategy: Enabling The Transformation to a New Style of IT
Simplicity is disrupting complexity. The long-held focus of IT “building and operating” computing
systems is rapidly moving to “aggregating and delivering” services from a wide range of sources.
When information and applications are accessible anywhere from a secure, “mobile workspace”
work is no longer a physical place. Meetings go virtual and work goes mobile. Desktops, once
considered devices, are increasingly delivered as services from the cloud – giving employees easy
access to applications and data from any laptop, smartphone or tablet.
No matter how you look at it, the way people work is changing, driven by an unprecedented
convergence of mobile, social and generational forces. Employees today want to move seamlessly
across a diverse mix of devices and locations throughout the day, collaborating with others,
and sharing information, as they go. At the same time, businesses need core infrastructure that
enables fast response to change – from reorganization and optimizations to mergers and market
expansions.
Citrix is also transforming the datacenter with visionary networking solutions, powering the
world’s largest cloud services and consolidating best-in-class application-aware networking
engines. And our SaaS division offerings, while primarily aimed at the SMB market, complement
our enterprise and service provider strategy and vision, providing collaboration and information
sharing services, both as stand-alone products and platform components of our integrated
solutions.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Citrix in 2014, we are incredibly excited about our future.
We believe Citrix is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the consumerization of IT, the Cloud-
service era and mobility trends to deliver ongoing growth for our employees, customers and
shareholders. Our end-to-end portfolio of solutions, experience, partner network and mobile
workspace strategy differentiate us from other players, both large and small.
Helping our customers solve business challenges and seize the speed of change is what drives and
inspires us. Through innovation, thought leadership and a compelling vision of the future of work,
we’re making a difference every day at many thousands of organizations that are embarking on
this journey with us. What we do is more than a game changer – it’s a life changer – and we take
that responsibility seriously.
On behalf of the Board and our employees, we thank you for your support and condence.
Sincerely,
Mark Templeton David Henshall
President and CEO COO and CFO
