 TRUE VALUE  ANNUAL REPORT
MORE THAN A HARDWARE STORE
A PASSION FOR COMMUNITY.
True Value retailers are commied to their communities. It’s just who they are.
Whether it’s sponsoring youth sports teams or participating in local charitable
organizations and other groups, our retailers are actively making a difference.
True Value Foundation’s Painting
a Brighter Future program is
another way to help. Through
the program, we’ve supplied
thousands of gallons of free, fresh
paint to hundreds of schools in
need — nearly five million square
feet of classrooms since . All
that is required is for the retailer to encourage a
local school to apply.
A wonderful example of the program in action
can be found in a primary school in one of
Freeport, Bahamas’ most impoverished areas
and a desire at Kelly’s Freeport Ltd. True Value
to help. Says Lynne Fraino, of Kelly’s, “When we
learned about the program, one school came
to mind immediately. They were eager for the
help, and they received the grant.”
The school put the paint to good use, with
the faculty doing the work to refresh the
classrooms, not just with flat color, but also with
beautiful murals. It was a thrill for the retailer to
see the impact. “When we visited the school, we
got to see the children,” says Lynne. “They made
signs, sang us songs — they were so excited to
get the grant.”
Paint is just one way we help the community.
Each year at Spring and Fall Market meetings,
our retailers, suppliers and associates work with
Habitat for Humanity to help build affordable
housing for local residents.
“IT’S MORE THAN PAINT.
IT’S POSITIVE CHANGE.
