1) DEVELOP SERVANT LEADERS
We believe highly engaged people make for highly engaged guests, and you can’t
do it any other way. That’s why we are building the brand and the profitability of our
restaurants while we create a whole new experience for employees and our guests.
LEADING THE WAY
At Popeyes, growth begins with our people. Seven years ago we made the commitment that our purpose
was to inspire servant leaders to achieve superior results. Now we have formally added a new first
pillar to our strategic roadmap: Develop Servant Leaders. This new pillar elevates the importance of
developing our leaders to the same level as sales, operations, profitability and new restaurant growth.
We have set out to transform Popeyes into a people-driven company, because our culture drives the
results we deliver. Partnering with our franchisees, we are starting by investing in leadership
development — a foundation for our growth strategy over the long term.
To sustain our industry-leading performance, we need strong leaders who drive engagement. Our
objective is to engage the team at all levels, from our corporate office to our restaurants. With
approximately 45,000 people working across the Popeyes system, this is a big goal — and one we will
work hard to achieve over the coming years.
ENGAGING THE TEAM
After looking closely at other high-performing brands, we are starting by focusing on restaurant
general managers (RGMs). We want to help Popeyes restaurant leaders grow their capabilities and
create a rewarding work environment for their restaurant crews. To be successful, we must be
relentless about doing two things: simplifying their work and building their operational, leadership
and sales skills.
This means changing the way we work to better support our restaurants. It means streamlining how we
develop and launch new initiatives. We want to simplify our processes while giving franchisees, RGMs
and restaurant crews the tools, routines and training they need.
We are passionate about making Popeyes restaurants a great place to work and creating a superior
employee and guest experience. Ultimately, we want to create an environment and a culture that goes
far beyond the delicious food we serve. In the years ahead, we are working to become a place where
we serve each other and our guests like no one else in the business.
