SET NEW STANDARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
13
Meanwhile, Kautex has developed a next generation fuel sys-
tem, streamlining the fuel tank production process, as well as
the product development process. Several auto manufacturers
around the world have committed to using this system, which
is expected to be assembled in 2009 models.
Responding to demands from electrical contractors and utility
workers, Greenlee launched a line of more than 100 custom-
designed hand tools to make its customers’ work safer, faster
and easier. This product line enjoyed a successful launch in
North America in 2007 and will be available at one of the larg-
est U.S. home-improvement chains in 2008.
Innovation was alive and well in Textron’s Industrial segment
in 2007. E-Z-GO’s breakthrough golf car, Kautex’s next genera-
tion fuel system and Greenlee’s line of professional hand tools
are just three examples of the inventiveness afoot in this
$3.4 billion segment. Designed for three entirely different
industries, these products share a common goal: serving the
needs of Textron’s customers.
The E-Z-GO RXV, which began shipping in the fi rst quarter of
2008, uses AC power, resulting in greater reliability and sub-
stantial energy savings for golf course operators. The RXV is
as much as 30 percent more effi cient than competing vehicles.
For golfers, the RXV sets a new standard in performance with
improved suspension, braking and ergonomic comfort features.
Golf course operators had plenty to cheer about with the introduction of the E-Z-GO RXV golf car (left) and Jacobsen’s Eclipse
Hybrid Walking Greens Mower in 2007. Textron’s other industrial businessesGreenlee, Kautex and the Fluid & Power group
of businesses—enjoyed an enthusiastic reception to their innovative new offerings as well. Nearly 11,000 employees in 21
countries continue to raise the bar for product performance, effi ciency and safety across this segment.
