eorts by national chains based in Tennessee. In 2011, we
plan to add another 70 schools to the program.
Cracker Barrel also supported gender diversity as a
Patron Sponsor of the ATHENA Award and Scholarship
program oered by CABLE, a women’s networking organiza-
tion based in Nashville. As part of our ongoing work with
the NAACP, Cracker Barrel supplied products for the annual
Catsh and Blues Reception hosted by the Mississippi State
Conference for the NAACP’s 101st Annual Convention
this year. We continue to support the Tom Joyner Family
Reunion® and to fund scholarship programs at two
Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Spelman
College in Atlanta, Georgia and Fisk University in
Nashville, Tennessee. Cracker Barrel was a sponsor of
the Florida ProStart Management Competition presented
by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s
Education Foundation again this year. at program provides
students with an opportunity to learn about restaurant
and hospitality career options.
Closer to home, we provided funding for historical
markers across Tennessee and gave back to the Nashville
area when the ooding in May uprooted many of our
guests and employees. We provided gi cards for meals
to people in shelters and, through Cracker Barrel Cares,
provided funds to support our employees in need.
Our People Make the Brand
Preserving the integrity of our brand means living out our
mission of “Pleasing People.” With the right talent at every
level, we can continue to deliver a great guest experience, grow
our revenues, and improve our prots. e dedicated eorts
of the 67,000 people who are part of our organization make
the brand what it is today, a one-of-a-kind experience to
share a great aordable meal with family and friends in a
down-home country atmosphere.
As we look forward to scal 2011, we still face economic
uncertainty. What we do know is that when families dine
out, they will remain focused on value. In our own unique
way, we are delivering value which is consistently reected
in high scores in customer satisfaction. Over the past two years
we have made great strides in improving our business.
We aren’t nished, but we’re encouraged about the long-
term potential of our company, and we appreciate
