As part of our Commitment to Environmen-
tal Excellence and as an outspoken industry
advocate, Chesapeake actively engages
with shareholders, stakeholders and local
residents to establish open and honest
communication about our operations. We
host regular Town Hall meetings, meet with
landowner organizations and provide our
This School Rocks program in classrooms
each year, which teaches elementary to high
school students the basics about natural gas
and oil. In addition, we host regular rig tours
and provide shale school training for various
stakeholder groups to inform and educate
them about our operations and safeguards.
To further our public education eorts,
we also provide insightful animations, illustra-
tions, videos and other resources that explain
all aspects of our operations through the Ed-
ucational Library section of www.chk.com.

Chesapeake is committed to continually improving exploration and produc-
tion activities. Our goal is to reduce our country’s dependence on expen-
sive foreign oil and dirty coal, and transition to clean-burning natural gas
through the use of industry-leading operational practices and continuous techno-
logical innovation and improvement.
Because of our commitment to environmental excellence, Chesapeake has
established the following core values and is continuing to integrate them into all de-
