1CATHAY PACIFIC AIRWAYS LIMITED ANNUAL REPORT 1999
Cathay Pacific Airways, based in Hong Kong, is an international
airline offering scheduled passenger and cargo services to 48 cities in
five continents.
Cathay Pacific has a 75 percent shareholding in the all-freight carrier
AHK Air Hong Kong Limited, which operates scheduled cargo services
to Japan, Europe and the Middle East. In association with Hong Kong
Dragon Airlines Limited, our global network extends to a further
25 destinations in China and around the region.
Cathay Pacific is a founder member of the global alliance oneworld
which has networks that serve over 650 destinations worldwide.
Other members of oneworld are American Airlines, British Airways,
Finnair, Iberia and Qantas. Aer Lingus and LanChile will join in the
middle of 2000.
As a strong, diversified aviation group, we maintain equity interests
in a number of subsidiary and associated companies which provide
aviation related services in Hong Kong and overseas.
Cathay Pacific Airways is a member of the Swire Group and is listed
on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
