RIGHT
NOW,
One month ago,
employees at the Cardinal Health Presource
procedure pack facility assembled all
the tools necessary for an abdominal
surgery into a surgical kit, saving critical
set-up time on the day of surgery.
Six months ago,
a Six Sigma team from Cardinal Health
helped hospital sta map out
ine ciencies that were increasing
surgery costs and slowing operating
room turns.
Right now, a surgeon is performing
a delicate operation to give a patient
something extremely precious—
more time to live. Because the
surgeons hospital partnered with
Cardinal Health to provide quality,
cost-e ective solutions for care, he
can focus on doing just that.
We help our customers by simplifying the business
behind healthcare. As we  nd better, more e cient
ways to provide products and services, we help them
focus their attention on caring for their patients.
And when the focus is on patient care, better outcomes
are possible through earlier diagnoses, fewer errors
and lower unplanned readmittance to hospitals.
Increasing e ciency, reducing costs
Beyond providing product through our integrated
distribution network, we o er resources to help
customers increase e ciencies and improve the
economics of care, including pharmacy spend, medical
product selection and process optimization. Our
retail pharmacy customers who use our inventory
management, reimbursement accuracy and marketing
services can improve their pro tability. In the hospital
setting, our supply chain solutions have helped our
customers save millions of dollars on pharmaceutical
and medical/surgical supply spend, and programs like
our remote medication order-entry service can save
25 percent in pharmacy labor costs per year.
