GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
AIG investments
build better lives for people
around the world.
From the beginning, a central focus
of AIG’s strategy has been to invest
in the countries where we operate
and support important nation-building
and educational projects, among others,
that improve and contribute to greater
social well-being.
Throughout the world, our investments
have helped open hospitals and schools,
build dams, establish mortgage lending
markets, set up telecommunications
systems and lay down highways, in addi-
tion to funding many other essential
undertakings that have benefited people
in the markets we serve.
With one of the largest investment
portfolios in the world, AIG also empha-
sizes socially responsible investment
strategies. Likewise, our investments
reflect the values of AIG, which is why
our investment experts diligently evaluate
and select business partners and funds that
live up to our high standards. Over the
years, for example, we have invested in a
range of minority-owned firms and have
moved toward developing “green funds”
that benefit the environment.

their families can obtain much needed personal accident coverages, among others. ■AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp. developed Atlantic Station
in Atlanta, and with the early help of AIG Environmental, led one of the largest brownfield remediation efforts ever undertaken in the United States. ■
AIG is among the world’s largest investors in government securities and other investments that fuel economic and infrastructure growth. ■The AIG
U.S. Residential Real Estate Funds raised $300 million to acquire and develop multifamily properties.
