Pinin is the
European cous in of
the Pajero iO 3-
door compact sport
utility vehicle.
Dis tinguishing features include Mitsubishi's eco-friendly GDI
engine, which has received high acclaim in environmentally-
aware Europe, Super Select 4WD four-wheel drive and auto-
matic trans mis sion, with Pininfarina des ign taste eloquently
evident in both interior and exterior trim. The happy marriage
between Pajero's outstanding all-round road performance and
Pininfarina design and production technology excellence re-
sults in a unique and highly attractive vehicle that meets the
needs of the European market. The 5 door version will debut
at the Paris Motor Show this autumn.

The fully redesigned Pajero was launched in
September 1999. Developed to MMC's latest Smart
Design and Ecology Conscious themes , Pajero is
powered by eco-friendly engines and us es a light-
weight but very s trong monocoque cons truction. A
brand-new Direct Injection dies el engine returns
27% better fuel consumption than its predecess or
and meets Japanese 2005 dies el vehicle fuel con-
sumption s tandards. The 3.5-liter V6 GDI eco-friend-
ly power unit returns frugal fuel cons umption while
delivering high power outputs. Mitsubis hi's lates t
Super Select 4WD-II 4-wheel drivetrain and INVECS-II
Sport Mode automatic transmission complete its
evolution into a Global Standard Pajero for the new
age. Since its debut in 1982, the Pajero has been
sold in over 170 countries worldwide.
