Bahram Akradi founded our company in 1992 and has been a director and President since our inception. Mr. Akradi
was elected Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors in May 1996. Mr. Akradi has over
24 years of experience in healthy way of life initiatives. From 1984 to 1989, he led U.S. Swim & Fitness
Corporation as its co-founder and Executive Vice President. Mr. Akradi was a founder of the health and fitness
Industry Leadership Council.
Michael J. Gerend was elected Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer upon joining our company in
March 2003. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Gerend was President and Chief Executive Officer of Grand
Holdings, Inc., doing business as Champion Air, the largest dedicated provider of charter airlift in the airline
industry, from July 1998 to January 2003. Mr. Gerend also held senior management positions at Northwest Airlines,
Inc. from April 1991 to December 1997.
