The G650 (above) is the only business jet capable
of flying eight passengers and a crew of four 7,000
nautical miles nonstop with speeds over Mach 0.9,
making it the fastest civil aircraft in the world.
The cabin (middle) is the longest, widest, tallest
and most comfortable in its class, and the G650
PlaneView II™ cockpit (right) enhances flight safety
through sophisticated, next-generation technology.
Our aircraft services businesses continue to provide
award-winning customer support (left).
Aerospace
The Aerospace group achieved significant milestones
in 2010 that enhance its reputation for superior
execution in aircraft manufacturing, completions
and services. Gulfstream Aerospace, the premier
brand in business-jet aviation, continued
development of two new aircraft: the flagship
ultra-long-range, ultra-large-cabin G650 and the
super-mid-cabin G250. The G650 completed several
milestones required for certification by the Federal
Aviation Administration and European Aviation
Safety Agency this year and remains on track for
entry into service in 2012. In October, the G650
flew at Mach 0.9 over a 5,000-nautical-mile closed
circuit, the fastest ultra-long-range flight ever flown
by a business jet. The G250 accomplished its first
trans-Atlantic crossing in October, and the first
aircraft is scheduled to enter service in 2011. To
maintain its ability to meet demand for business-jet
aircraft and support services in the future,
Gulfstream announced a $500 million, seven-year
facilities expansion project at its Savannah campus.
Our aircraft services businesses expanded their
offerings to better meet customer requirements
around the world, with particular emphasis in Asia,
a region where the use of business-jet aircraft shows
promise of growing rapidly.
