In2010,theeffectsofourpushforop-
erationalexcellencewereclear,especially
inrevenuegrowth,costmanagement,-
nancialperformanceandthequalityofthe
customerexperience.
OurNewProductInnovationisaformal
processthatmonetizesinnovationbyturn-
ingideasgeneratedacrosstheCompany
intomarket-relevantsolutions.Lastyear,
NPIrevenuehit$176millionforproducts
introducedinthepastthreeyears,with
eachoftheCompany’sbusinessunits
achievingsignicant,realNPIgrowth.
Thesynergiesweachievedfromprevi-
ousacquisitionshaveallowedEquifaxto
bringnewvaluetoourclients.WithThe
WorkNumber,ourabilitytointegratecredit
datawithemploymentandincomeinsights
providedamultidimensionalsolutionun-
likeanythingelseavailable,andthemarket
respondedverypositively.Otheracquired
assets,suchasIXI’sconsumerwealth
data,areprovingtobepivotalinformulat-
ingdynamicsolutionsforexistingclients
andmarkets,aswellasinemergingare-
nas,likedigitalmarketing.In2010,several
majorcustomersexpandedtheirrelation-
shipswithusprimarilyasaresultofthe
value-added,uniquedataweprovide.
Withthemanagementdisciplinesof
efciency-enhancingprogramsLEANand
Work-Outfullyseededthroughoutthe
Company,weareachievingsubstantial
productivityandcostsavings.Internally,
theseeffortshaveenergizedtheemployee
basebybringingsharpfocustostrategic
prioritiesandreducingnon-coreactivity.
Ourconcentrationonexecutingour
strategicvisionledtodivestituresthaten-
abledustomaintainthattightfocusand
provideadditionalnancialandmanage-
mentresourcesforcriticalgrowthop-
portunities.In2010,theDirectMarketing
Services(DMS)unitwassoldtoAlliance
DataSystems,generating$117millionfor
reinvestmentandtransferringtheoperation
andallemployeesintacttoatopplayerin
theeld.Similarly,EquifaxsoldtheAPPRO
suiteofloanoriginationsoftwaretoCRIF
Corp.for$72million.
