Cintiq 12WX –
improved portability for professionals
Clearly illustrating that we will
never rest on our laurels is the
new Cintiq 12WX interactive pen
display. We’re not boasting, but
this is a highly desirable product.
It combines high-end functional-
ity and a 12.1” widescreen LCD
with the smaller size and
portability of a sketchbook. With
a reduced footprint and lower price compared to its older
sibling, the Cintiq 21UX, this model is ideal for first-time
buyers as well as those purchasing a second device.
The Cintiq 12WX has been very well-received by the market
since its launch in November 2007 and is the prime reason
behind the rising sales of our interactive pen displays. We fully
expect strong demand to continue across a range of sectors
for the Cintiq 12WX.
A secure, paperless workflow
for financial institutions
Did you know that Wacom pen
tablets are being used more
and more in the commercial
finance sector? Actually, these
types of companies increas-
ingly require a paperless
workflow in their personal
contact and over-the-counter
services. Our pen tablets have
therefore drawn the attention
of this industry as a tool for
building personal information management systems that need
a high level of security. This is particularly important in areas
such as digital signature verification and the management of
contractual documents.
There are many examples of major financial institutions
integrating pen tablet technology into their security systems.
German bank Berliner Sparkasse has introduced interactive
pen displays into its digital signature system. Mitsui Sumitomo
Insurance has adopted pen tablets for its contract system.
Both these examples eliminate the need for paper or official
seals.
We believe that electronic signatures or other electronic
verification systems making use of pen tablets will prove
increasingly popular in many fields. The main advantages are
cost savings, the reduction in time and human error and
helping the environment through paperless workflows.
