n America Rebuilds campaign – Our America Rebuilds
with The Principal campaign called on all Americans
to get an advisor, get a plan and get rebuilding.
AmericaRebuilds.com was designed to engage, educate,
inspire and motivate Americans to take action through
tools, personal stories and guidance from advisors and
experts like Jean Chatzky.
n America Rebuilds mobile site tools
(m.principal.com/plan) – For advisors and people on the
go, we created a convenient mobile website allowing
users to evaluate their retirement goals through a
planning calculator; receive useful and engaging
information about budgeting, saving and other goals;
find an advisor; and schedule calendar reminders to
contact their advisor.
GIVING ADVISORS AN EDGE
n Mobile compensation services – The Principal Advisor
Compensation Application provides direct access to a
consolidated and summarized view of compensation
statements from a mobile device. Advisors can also sign
up for compensation alerts that provide estimated gross
compensation information through texts or e-mail.
n Third-party administration (TPA) – To help financial
professionals and TPAs capture more retirement business,
The Principal introduced a year-long TPA installation
expense allowance program to help offset plan
installation fees. Combined with the existing administrative
support and program efficiencies offered through the
Principal TPA EdgeSM program, plan sponsors can deliver
even greater value to their plan participants.
n Principal Retirement Income EdgeSM (retirement
income planning) –
> Savings-to-Employment Income Ratio white paper –
The Savings-to-Employment Income Ratio is a quick
litmus test for estimating the current health of an
investor’s retirement savings. Tips for using the ratio
are included in a new white paper for financial
professionals titled “When the Destination is
Retirement: A Way to Keep Investors’ Plans on Track.”
> Expanded self-serve Retirement Education Portal –
Offers financial professionals easy access to an online
library focused on retirement income planning and
overall retirement plan education.
n Enhanced retirement service platform – Financial
professionals now have more choice:
> In service model, either bundled or working with a
local third-party administrator
> In investment choice
> In the services they want The Principal to take the lead
on, including participant education, local service
support, annual plan and investment reviews
n Privileged Partner Program in group specialty benefits –
Building on existing programs for our top individual
life and individual disability producers, we introduced a
Privileged Partner Program for group specialty benefits
brokers to reward top-selling brokers with higher levels
of support and services.
n Tools to address estate tax uncertainty – To help advisors
stay informed about estate tax legislation, we introduced
a new advisor website designed to provide information
and tools to help keep clients’ estate planning on track.

strategies based on various estate tax scenarios.
