13. SUBSEQUENT EVENT
(a) Stock option plan
The plan provides for granting options to directors and administrative directors to purchase up to 60 thousand shares and 39 thousand shares
of the Company’s common stock, respectively, in the period from June 29, 2003 to June 28, 2011. The options will be granted at an exercise
price of 5 percent of the fair market value of the Company’s common stock at the prior month of the date of option grant. The Company plans
to issue acquired treasury stock upon exercise of the stock options.
(b) On April 4, 2001, the Company, upon approval by the Board of Directors, issued 1.000% Yen Unsecured Bonds due 2008 in the amount of
¥10,000 million ($80,710 thousand).
(c) On June 28, 2001, the Company’s shareholders approved appropriations of retained earnings as follows:
