GROWTH STRATEGY
The key goals of our multifaceted growth strategy are to grow earnings, same-store sales, and other key
operating and financial metrics, as well as expand our Jack in the Box and Qdoba Mexican Grill brands.
In addition to reporting our third consecutive year of diluted EPS growth in excess of 20 percent,
same-store sales at company-operated Jack in the Box restaurants – those locations open more than
one year – increased 6.1 percent in fiscal 2007, with the improvement primarily due to the progress
weve made in reinventing the Jack in the Box brand.
Qdoba also experienced another strong year of sales growth, with system same-store sales growing
4.6 percent. Qdoba has now achieved 33 consecutive quarters of comparable sales growth.
