Greenlee’s Ultra Tugger 2 was released
in early 2006. This lightweight, mobile
cable puller created a fl exible,
economical platform for light industrial
and commercial markets by resolving
complex interface and compatibility
concerns. It sold three times the fore-
casted demand in its fi rst year.
Jacobsen is at the forefront of
electric technology in turf mainte-
nance equipment. Enhancements to
our environmentally friendly E-Walk
mower refl ected our understanding
that customer satisfaction creates
growth. With the InCommand
system, released in 2006, E-Walks
operate with greater ease and
control while providing consistent
quality-of-cut. Jacobsen’s
whisper-quiet mower allows early
morning cuts, making time for
more golf rounds each day and
allowing customers to operate their
properties more effi ciently.
Kautex, pioneers in plastic fuel
systems, booked record-high new
orders in 2006. We introduced new
products and patented technology to
blow-mold fuel systems and
components in one process.
This innovation reduces production
costs, giving customers a
competitive advantage. Kautex
grew in the US, Eastern Europe and
Asia to accommodate long-term,
global customer relationships. One
important contract will require our
Leer, Germany plant to operate at
capacity for ten years.
The Fluid & Power Group is
one of Textron’s most global
companies, with 75 percent of
revenues from outside the U.S. In
2006, we experienced over 10
percent growth in core pump
business orders. Our 2006
expansion into China generated $20
million in local business in its fi rst
year. F&P won a 2006 Chairman’s
Award for Innovation, evidence
that R&D can drive advances in the
pump and power transmission
industries.
E-Z-GO is a leader in fl eet
golf cars and utility vehicles.
We collaborate with golf courses,
large properties and gated
communities, adding value
with customized vehicles and
programs that support their
brand, business and customer
satisfaction goals. Revenue from
our line of trail, utility, personal
and industrial vehicles increased
15 percent. Sales of aftermarket
parts also fl ourished, with 23
percent increase in revenues in
2006.
