activities where kids can be kids.The new building
will be called the Chili’s Care Center, and it will
serve as the center of a brain tumor consortium
connected with 11 other institutions dedicated
to patient care and scientific research.This research
is freely shared with other medical institutions
around the world, thus affecting the lives of thou-
sands of children and families.At St. Jude, no
child is ever denied treatment due to the family’s
inability to pay.
Romano’s Macaroni Grill
Employees of Romano’s
Macaroni Grill created and
sold the ties from around their necks as part of a
fund-raising campaign for Habitat for Humanity.
Some employees also helped build houses for the
organization. All told, Macaroni Grill raised more
than $200,000 for Habitatfor Humanity.
On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina
Dallas-area On The Border
restaurants raised a total of
$150,000 for charity
through the On The Border Annual
Charity Golf Classic. Proceeds went to the Kenny
Can Foundation for Brain Cancer and the Trinity
River Mission in Dallas.The Kenny Can Foundation
is named for Kenny Dennis, our beloved On The
Border president who lost his battle with brain
cancer in 2002.The Trinity River Mission is a
learning center that serves children, teens, and
adults in one of Texas’
poorest communities.
Maggiano’s Little Italy
Maggiano’s raised
$117,000 through
its “Eat-A-Dish for
Make-A-Wish”
program.This will
help make19
wishes come true for
children with life-threatening medical conditions.
For everyspeciallydesignated menu item ordered
during the four-week promotion period, $1 went
to Make-A-Wish. Patrons could also make a
donation to “Become a Star” and receive a paper
star cutout on which to record their name
and donation, to be displayed in the restaurant
throughout the promotion.And for the first time,
guests could also purchase a special limited-edition
Maggiano’s/Make-A-Wish Gift card, with $1 from
eachpurchase benefiting the foundation.

with mom Nancy at the OTB Golf Classic benefiting the Kenny
Can Foundation
