Boeing Launch Services
Commercial Delta IV
Boeing continues to offer the Delta family of
launch vehicles through launch services con-
tracted with United Launch Alliance. Delta rockets
provide Boeing’s commercial launch customers
with a wide range of payload capabilities and
vehicle conguration options to deliver missions
reliably to virtually any destination in space.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security continued
C-17 Globemaster III The C-17 Globemaster III, the world’s most
advanced and versatile airlifter, is designed for
long-range transport of equipment, supplies and
military troops. The C-17 is used extensively to
support combat operations, disaster response,
humanitarian relief and aeromedical evacuation
missions. Through the end of 2015, Boeing
delivered 271 C-17s including 48 for international
customers in Australia, Canada, India, Kuwait,
Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the United
Kingdom and the 12-member Strategic Airlift
Capability initiative of NATO and Partnership
for Peace nations. Although C-17 production
has completed, Boeing will continue to provide
system-level Performance-Based Logistics
sustainment services for the entire fleet, including
material management and depot maintenance
support. One C-17 remains unsold and is in
storage. Four additional C-17s are also in storage
for delivery to the Qatar Emiri Air Force in 2016.

C-17 Globemaster III Integrated
Sustainment Program
The C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment
Program is a public and private agreement
designed around the concept of Performance-
Based Logistics (PBL), in which the customer
pays for a level of readiness, not for specific parts
or services. Under the agreement, Boeing is
responsible for integrating all C-17 sustainment
activities. As part of the PBL program, the
C-17 Virtual Fleet arrangement allows all C-17
operators global access to a pool of shared
spares and resources, which increases aircraft
availability and makes the C-17 more affordable
to own and operate.
Autonomous Systems
Unmanned Little Bird H-6U
Boeing’s unmanned programs provide battlefield,
logistics and surveillance options, including
the Unmanned Little Bird H-6U and the S-100
produced by Schiebel. Insitu, a wholly owned
Boeing subsidiary, designs, develops and
manufactures high-performance, cost-effective
tactical unmanned vehicles such as ScanEagle
and Integrator. Boeing and Insitu’s technology
and related support systems provide important
tools that deliver critical data and support strike
capacity for the warfighter.

extensive experience developing, deploying
and defending complex systems for custom-
ers and on our own global network, Boeing
possesses a unique understanding of network
security needs, challenges and solutions.
Bombers
B-1B Bomber B-52 Bomber
The B-1B Lancer is a long-range bomber in
service with the U.S. Air Force since 1985. The
multimission B-1B can deliver an extraordinary
quantity and diversity of weapons anywhere in
the world, within hours. The B-52H Stratofortress
is in its fifth decade of operational service. Its
primary mission is to provide the United States
with immediate nuclear and conventional global
capability. Boeing is in the midst of expansive
upgrades of both bombers—Integrated Battle
Station on B-1B and the Combat Network
Communications Technology update on B-52H
which enhance and modernize the capabilities
of the bombers.
Directed Energy Boeing integrates high-power lasers into
tactical systems that identify, track and defeat
threats over air, land and sea. The Compact
Laser Weapon System has destroyed airborne
targets and demonstrated precise surveillance,
reconnaissance and intelligence capabilities
that are promising to have cost-effective military
applications. The Air Force Research Laboratory
awarded Boeing a $13.7 million contract exten-
sion in 2015 to design and engineer adaptive
optics, a laser guide star, and other electro-
optical systems for the Starre Optical Range and
Maui Space Surveillance Complex. Boeing has
managed operations, maintenance and upgrades
at the sites since 2006.
Echo Seeker Boeing’s Echo Seeker is a fully autonomous
unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV). The
32-foot-long vehicle can dive to and operate
at ocean depths of 20,000 feet (6,000 meters).
Echo Seeker is equipped with sonar to enhance
ocean-bottom mapping capabilities and has an
internal payload capacity of about 6,000 pounds
(2,722 kilograms). Echo Seeker was unveiled in
2015. It is larger than Boeing’s Echo Ranger UUV,
which began operations in 2001 and continues
as a contracted work system for ocean surveys.
