We launched Autodesk Productstream in fiscal
2005. Addressing the need for lifecycle manage-
ment solutions, Productstream enables customers
to automate release management and change
order management processes while allowing the
engineering department to maintain control of the
design. With less than 20 percent of our manufac-
turing customers currently using a 3D solution, the
opportunity for growth in this segment is sizable.
Our Infrastructure Solutions Division (ISD)
grew net revenues 21 percent over fiscal 2004 to
$138 million. ISD creates Autodesk solutions for
mappers, civil engineers, land planners and other
professionals who provide critical services in the
utilities, communications, construction and gov-
ernment industries. During the year, we released
the much-anticipated Autodesk Civil 3D 2005, our
first model-based civil engineering design solu-
tion. Simply put, Civil 3D is changing the way civil
engineers work.
Using our infrastructure software, customers
design better roads, bridges, railways and air-
ports—virtually any structure imaginable. And for
the first time, our civil engineering products are
being localized in EMEA and Asia-Pacific, support-
ing our investments in strategic areas that will help
us to continue growing revenues.
Our Building Solutions Division (BSD) also had
a fantastic year, growing net revenues 55 percent
to $124 million. As building projects become more
complex and demanding, customers require better
information and recognize the value of precise and
flexible building information modeling. Customers
using our building information modeling solutions
save time and money, see fewer errors, experience
greater productivity and produce higher-quality
work, all resulting in new business opportunities.
Autodesk Architectural Desktop continues to
provide AutoCAD-based design and documenta-
tion productivity with 3D visualization capabilities
for architects. Autodesk AutoCAD Revit Series
provides the ultimate in flexibility, giving our
customers the immediate competitive advantage
of building information modeling while protect-
ing their investment in design software. And like
Autodesk Inventor Series, AutoCAD Revit Series
enables customers to add 3D capability at their
own pace. Adoption of our 3D building information
modeling solutions gets stronger every quarter.
Autodesk Media and Entertainment
Our media and entertainment division, discreet,
demonstrated robust performance in fiscal 2005,
growing revenue 16 percent to $154 million. We
also delivered on our commitment to improve
productivity and efficiency, generating $21 million
in operating income compared to break-even in
fiscal 2004.
